Columbia Valley

Our other foray into blending this year is inspired by the great wines of Coonawara and McClaren Vale from Down Under.  The Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and a minty component to the Syrah, enveloped the bold, brambly blackberry and cured meat of the Syrah with a toasty vanilla and baking spice note from the French oak barrels.  We are pretty excited by how this turned out and plan on making it a regular in our yearly offerings.

Columbia Valley 

The 2021 Rush Lattin Syrah has a complex nose that reaches out and pulls you in; grilled meats, ripe black cherry, pomegranate, provencal herbs and nutmeg.  It has is soft on the palate but full-bodied, with layers of ripe blackberry and currant, tinged with fennel on the sides of your tongue and a tanginess that builds as it sits in your mouth, keeping the flavors fresh and vibrant and lingering persistently on the finish.  This is a wine built to continue to improve in your cellar over the next 10 years.

(35% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 35% Mourvedre)

Columbia Valley

Our first foray into a traditional Chateauneuf du Papes style blend.  The white pepper and candied strawberry grenache balances beautifully with soft and ripe gamey Syrah and perfumed, rich Mourvedre.  It has a different mouthfeel and energy than our single varietal wines, soft and friendly in your mouth while still remaining full-bodied and complex.

Red Mountain

From our best single barrel of Grenache, this is a showcase of how great Grenache can be from Red Mountain.  Light ruby color that you can see through and clear as a bell white pepper, candied strawberry and cranberry on the nose.  Warm and inviting sweet cranberry on the palate that is deceptively full-bodied.  There is a last, lingering note of pie cherry on the finish.

Columbia Valley

Blackberry, black currant and fennel, with some cedar on the bouquet.  On the palate there is a additional note of earthiness and ripe, grippy tannins that hang on long after you've swallowed the wine.

(90% Syrah / 10% Grenache)
